From the Times Union, Albany, New York, August 13, 1993: Donald L. Dunham, 73, of Poestenkill died Thursday (August 12) in Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness. He was born in Brunswick and lived in Poestenkill for more than 60 years.
Mr. Dunham worked for the Rensselaer County Highway Department as a maintenance man for county buildings. He retired in 1982. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Europe. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and belonged to the Sullivan Jones Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Disabled American Veterans Association. Mr. Dunham was also a member of the Poestenkill Fire Department and the Poestenkill Christian Church of Disciples.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Barnum Dunham; two daughters, Donna Mullen of Troy and Ruth Denue of Averill Park; a brother, Howard Dunham of Poestenkill; a sister, Audna Craver of Poestenkill; and seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, Routes 43 and 66, Glass Lake, Averill Park, with burial in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
