St. George, Utah - Imogene Stock, age 80, died Monday, October 18, 2004 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She was born September 20, 1924 in St. George, Utah to James Amos and Mary Jane Morris Holt.
Imogene married Blayne Barnum on April 27, 1945. They later divorced. She married Gardner Bracken on August 27, 1957 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. After Gardners death in 1990, she married John N. Stock in St. George, Utah in 1991.
Imogene grew up in Enterprise, Utah where she graduated from Enterprise High School. She moved to St. George to attend Dixie College where she was student body president and D-day Queen. After she graduated from Dixie College, she taught school at Enterprise High School. Imogene always enjoyed helping people. In 1950 she attended Southern Utah University where she became an L.P.N. She worked at Dixie Pioneer Memorial Hospital, St. George Care Center and Porter's Nursing Home. She was always a very kind and thoughtful nurse. She also enjoyed music and dancing. She loved spending time with her husband John, her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving family include her husband, John Stock, children: Barry (Betty) Barnum of St. George, UT, Scott Barnum of Toquerville, UT, Mary Lynn (Kelly) Larson of St. George, UT, brother; Wesley Holt of Caliente, NV, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gardner Bracken, brother, Ivan Holt, sisters: Alta Truman, Lovella Howard and Joy Eyre.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd. A visitation will be Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
