Notes for Ferne Amber BARNUM


From The Oxford Leader, Michigan: Ferne Amber Williams, of Attica, passed away on September 13, 2003, after an extended illness. She was 81. Previously of the Ortonville and Holly areas, Mrs. Williams was born on February 13, 1922, in Hastings, Michigan. She married Clinton Williams, who passed away in 1996, on August 30, 1941. Williams worked as a cook at Camp Holiday in Ortonville and as a personal cook. She was a member of the Ortonville Mom’s Club and the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter Nancy (Jim) Heacock of Attica; sons Norman (Linda) Williams of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Nelson (Carol) Williams of Holly, Wallace (Yvonne) Williams of Ecorse, and Michael (Joyce) Williams of Rochester Hills; sisters Vernelva Solomon of Middleville and Vada Aspinall of Hastings; and sister-in-law Margaret Barnum of Cadillac. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Williams was preceded in death by her husband Clinton; her parents Blake and Lema Barnum; sisters, Leo Price and Glenna Cheney; and brothers, Ivan Barnum and James Barnum. Funeral arrangements were provided at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. The Pastor Daniel Hutchinson officiated. Burial ceremonies were held in Meadowview Memorial Gardens in Davison.
