Louise Lavella James, long time resident of Nampa, passed away on September 24, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Louise was born in Dicken, Nebraska on November 14, 1932 to Gerald Aubrey and Bertha Syvia Favinger Barnum. She was one of 7 children. She was raised in Nebraska, and graduated from high school in Stapleton, Nebaska before eventually moving to Idaho in 1967.
Louise eventually met the love of her life, Andrew “Dick” James and married on January 8, 1986. Louise worked for 27 years as a lab technician, before retiring in 1995, She was most proud of her role as a mother, and took great pride in raising her four children, Linda, Mike, Ernest, and Charles. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. She loved to explore the world, and had the opportunity to travel around the country as well as abroad, including to places such as the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and swimming with the dolphins in Acapulco, Mexico.
Louise is survived by her children Linda (Alex) Florcyzk of Nampa, ID, Charles (Toni) Gibson of Caldwell, ID; her siblings, Ora Barnum of Stapleton, NE, Junior Barnum of Gandy, NE; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Dick” James; sons, Mike Gibson and Ernest Gibson; and great grandson Easton Collins; siblings Ralph Barnum, Goldie Freeman, Evelyn Schutt, and Elda Weller
Family and Friends are invited to attend service in her honor, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel; 404 10th Ave South, Nampa, ID with a visitation on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
NOTE: Although the names of her sons Mike and Ernest Gibson appear in her obituary, there is no menton of their father, her first husband, Lyle Gibson.
