Notes for Winfield Scott POWELL


From the Findlay Republican Courier, Findlay, Ohio, June 21, 1977: W. Scott Powell, 88, 1321 S. Blanchard St., a retired farmer, died at 10 p.m. Monday in Blanchard Valley Hospital. He had been ill the past two years. He was born June 17, 1889, in Union Township, Hancock County to Charles and Lodema I. (Hartman) Powell. He was married the late Stella May Barnum. Surviving are a son, Earl L., 1321 S. Blanchard St.; a sister, Mrs. Frances Benner, 1421 S. Blanchard St.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Anie Oman, Trenton Avenue; Mrs. Mabel Courtwright, rural McComb; Mrs. Nellie Businger, 715 College St.; two half-brothers, Carl Willoby, Lumbach, Calif.; Robert Willoby, Toledo; a grandson.
Services will be at I p.m. Thursday in Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Very Rev. Robert H. Steed officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
