From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Texas, 27 July 1995: Fort Worth - Myrtle E. Barnum, 91, a homemaker, died Wednesday at a local nursing home. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Myrtle E. Barnum was a lifelong Fort Worth resident. She was the oldest charter member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church (84 years). She was a member of Mima Ellis Sunday school class and was a former Sunday school teacher in the Beginner Department. She was a graduate of Central High School in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by Arthur P. Barnum. Active pallbearers: Kenneth Gordon Hibben Jr., Timothy George Hibben, Alvin P. Payne Jr., Claude Michael Whittle, Robert Roy Whittle and William Arthur Whittle. Survivors: Two daughters, Mary Lois Whittle of Corpus Christi and Bobbie Rae Hibben of Fort Worth; sister, Elsie Mae Kelley of Fort Worth; and nine grandchildren.
