A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Hartford Courant, Hartford, Connecticut, August 21, 1996: Betty Ross (Chapman) Barnum, 74, of Kirkham Place, Newington, died Tuesday (August 20, 1996) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. She was the widow of Harold E. Barnum. Born in Hartford, Mrs. Barnum lived in Newington for most of her life and was formerly employed by Keeney Manufacturing Co., Newington for over 35 years. She was a member of AARP and Newington Senior Citizens. Mrs. Barnum is survived by two sons, Richard C. Barnum, of Norway, ME, Harold E. Barnum, of Newington; grandchildren including, Sherry Ashley and Sandra Finney; six great grandchildren; and a great great grandson. Funeral services will be Thursday (Aug. 22), 11 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave. Newington, with the Rev. Laura Westby officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
