From The Daily Star, Oneonta, New York, March 7, 2004: Lakeland, Fla. — Fayette J. Fowlston of Lakeland, Fla., passed away from complications of cancer, Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland. She was born on Nov. 16, 1933, in Oneonta. She moved to Lakeland after 24 years of service with the Department of Defense overseas schools in Germany, the Philippines and Japan. She also taught 13 years in New York State, Kittery, Maine, and San Diego, Calif., before joining the Department of Defense program in 1973. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil S. Fowlston of Franklin. She is survived by her mother, Helen B. Fowlston of Lakeland, Fla. and Almond; her brother, George Fowlston, and his wife Linda, of Cary, N.C.; sister, Mrs. Virginia McCarthy, and her husband John of Almond; four nieces and nephews; one great-nephew and many close friends in Tucson, Ariz. A memorial service will be held at the graveside in the Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, NY at some future date to be decided by the family.
