Notes for Bernice BARNUM


Bernice Barnum married Gordon H. P. Gould on February 17, 1934, in Lyons Falls, New York. They had 3 children together before they divorced. She was the second of his three wives. Bernice subsequently married Everett Schultheis and had a daughter, Heidi. Bernice and Everett Schultheis (1904-1987) are buried in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls, NY (findagrave.com).
From the Utica Daily Press, Utica, NY, September 9, 1980: Bernardsville, New Jersey – Mrs. Bernice Barnum Schultheis, 69, died on September 2, 1980 in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Mrs. Schultheis was a former resident of Lyons Falls, and had taught school in the Brantingham Lake Area. She was born on November 14, 1910, a daughter of Edwin and Marie Barnum. She was married to Gordon H.P. Gould of Lyons Falls.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Everett Schultheis of Bernardsville, NJ; her mother, Mrs. Edwin Barnum of Troy, NY; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Nancy) Carr of New York City, Heidi Schultheis of Bernardsville, NJ; two sons, Harry P. Gould of Houston, Texas and Gene B. Gould of Morristown, NJ. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 3 00 pm at the Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.
