From The Times Herald, Port Huron, Michigan, September 16, 2009: Mrs. Marion V. Davis, 89, a sixty year resident of Port Huron, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at University of Michigan Hospital. She was currently residing at Mill Pond Manor in Brighton. She was born December 23, 1919 in Beloit, Wisconsin to the late Earl and Ina (Barnum) Van Lone. She married John S. "Jack" Davis on December 4, 1950 in Beloit, Wisconsin. He died July 11, 1988. Mrs. Davis was a lab technician at Port Huron Hospital and the St. Clair County Medical Center. She also taught swimming at the YMCA for 38 years. She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES during WWII. She was past matron of the Mystic Chapter #58 O.E.S., a life member of White Shrine of Jerusalem Chapter #7, past president of Port Huron Musicale, past state president of the Michigan Federation of Music Clubs and a member of First Congregational Church. She loved classical music and played both the piano and organ. She is survived by a daughter, Julie (John) Davis Hine of Brighton; two grandchildren, Andrew and Amy Hine; a step-daughter, J. Posey (Joe) Seletsky; and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth D. Van Lone and a step-daughter, Bonnie Joyce Davis. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Donald R. Doerzbacher will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Beloit, Wisconsin.
