From the New Haven Register, Connecticut, May 7, 2014: Jane (Cleary) Barnum, wife of the late Humphrey Barnum, died at home May 5, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born on February 6, 1926, in Lancaster, PA, the second of four daughters of William A. and Mary E. Cleary. She attended Mount St. Mary's Academy in Plainfield, New Jersey, graduated from the College of New Rochelle and received a Master's Degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She was a teacher and reading consultant in the East Lyme School system until her retirement in 1994. She was predeceased by her son, William Humphrey Barnum. She is survived by her three daughters, Evelyn Barnum of Killingworth, CT, Mary Beth Barnum of Branford, CT, Sally Jane Siegler of Atlanta, GA; her sons-in-law, Eric Auer and David Siegler; three grandchildren, Vivian Jane Auer, Eric William Auer and Sarah Mary Auer; and by her two sisters, Margaret Ann Cleary and Barbara Cleary Harris, both of New Jersey. Relatives and friends will celebrate Jane's long and joyful life at a Memorial Mass and reception on Wednesday, May 14, at 1 pm at the St. Thomas More Chapel and Center at Yale University.
