From The Times Record, Troy, N.Y., Saturday, September 20, 1947: James S. McGan native of Seneca Falls and resident of Green Island for a number of years died yesterday at Albany Hospital, following a short illness. Mr. McGan, who resided at 23 Hudson Avenue, was a mason by trade, until his retirement several years ago. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, this village and a member of the Holy Name Society of the parish. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Loretta) Bolles; three sons, Francis, George and James McGan; one brother, John; two sisters, Miss Anna McGan and Mrs. Hugh Kelly and four grandchildren, Rosalind, Francis, James and Virginia Bolles, all of Green Island. The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Monday from the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, and from St Joseph's Church at 9:30 a.m. where a solemn requiem mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
