From the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday, March 10, 1951: Gays Mills, Wisconsin — Funeral services for Frank Don Jameson, 59, Gays Mills businessman and community leader who died of a heart attack at his home Friday, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Congregational church. The Rev. H. Sherwood, pastor will officiate. Burial will be In the Gays Mills cemetery, where Masonic graveside rites will be held.
Mr. Jameson had operated the Jameson general store in Gays Mills for 32 years. He had served for many years as a member the village and school boards. He was born in Illinois, and had taught at Central high school, La Crosse, and the Davenport, lowa high school, before coming to Gays Mills. He was the son of the late W.F. and Lucy Jameson.
Mr. Jameson was a member of the Congregational church and the Masonic lodge. He was married to Alma Mitchell who died in 1930, and later was married to Marian Pomeroy.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Douglas, a University of Wisconsin freshman, Scott, at home; Frank Donovan, South Fork, Pa. and John Gregory, Rolla, Mo., five daughters, Patricia and Nancy, at home, Mrs. Bernard King, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Amel Oppriecht, State Journal correspondent, and Mrs. William Haggerty, Gays Mills; a brother Alvi, Rhinelander; two sisters, Mrs. Harland Hays and Mrs. William Hutchins, Gays Mills; and 11 grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the Dommersnaes funeral home to the Jameson residence at noon today.
