A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From The Elgin Advocate, Saturday, May 29, 1909, pg. 7: Jerome Lester, 68 years of age, for 25 years a well known farmer four miles from the city, and for the past six years, retired and a resident here, died Thursday morning at his home, 339 Ryerson avenue, at 4:50 o'clock.
Mr. Lester was born at Addison, DuPage county, May 11, 1841. He was married in 1866 to Martha E. Hoyt. The survivors, besides Mrs. Hoyt (Lester) are two brothers, Marshall of Michigan City, Ind., and Rollin of Seattle, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Hannah E. Feltus, also of Seattle.
The deceased was a member of local lodge of the Modern Woodmen.
The funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. Interment at Bluff City.
