From the Daily News, Batavia, NY, March 10, 2015: Kenyonville — Earl L. Barnum, 66, of Kenyonville passed away on Sunday (March 8, 2015) at Medina Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born on Feb. 16, 1949, in Medina, he was the son of the late Dale J. and Marian B. (Lacey) Barnum.
Earl graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1968, where he received several awards in football and basketball and also attended Monroe Community College. He worked as a Corrections Officer for New York State Corrections at Orleans, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a call man for the Lyndonville Fire Co. and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Earl is survived by two children, Jennifer (David) Bertsch of Waterport and Jason (Maribeth) Barnum of Lyndonville, two grandchildren, Natalie Grace Bertsch and Zachary Claude Barnum, a sister, Dee Lucas of Medina, two nieces, Michelle (Bill) Oliver, Joette (Herb) Oberther, a nephew, James LaRock, all of Medina and a cousin, Janet Babcock of Albion.
Besides his parents, Earl is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Art Lucas.
There are no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held at the Kenyonville Cemetery in the spring.
