Turner, 81. of Hoffman Hollow Rd., died Thursday, December 15, 1988 at Tioga General Hospital, Waverly. He is survived by his wife, Viola Turner, Lowman; one son, Laurence Turner, Tioga Center; two daughters, Marion Walborn, Waverly, and Verna Barnum, North Reading, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Turner and Vernon Turner, both of Apalachin. He was born in Manchester, Iowa, March 28, 1907, the son of Earl and Pearl (Sites) Turner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owego and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way for the Lackawanna Railroad. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, Owego, with the Rev. Kenneth Simpson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor. The family will receive friends, Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends wishing are asked to direct donations to the Tioga Center Emergency Squad in his name.
