Richard Allen Barnum, 55, of Lodi, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Akron City Hospital. Funeral service will be Friday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Church at the Lake United Methodist, 7824 Lake Road, Chippewa Lake. The Rev. Jeff Lanzer will officiate. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. He was born March 18, 1950, in Lodi to John M. and Gladys (Allen) Barnum and was a Cloverleaf High School graduate, residing in Lodi most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and was a truck driver. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club, National Rifle Association and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; three children, Stephanie (Randy) Ryan of Polk, Michael (Teresa) Barnum of Rittman, and Richard D. (Karen) Barnum of Sunrise, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Schunn of West Salem and Joyce (Jim) Tilley of Alabama; and two brothers, John N. (Virginia) Barnum of Brunswick and Robert (Enid) Barnum of North Carolina. His parents and a niece died previously.
