A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Ebenezer is descended from William Wilson and Sarah Shaw, who immigrated to Canada in the 1830's, leaving two married daughters behind in Scotland. The rest of their family either stayed in Ontario or migrated to the north- central states and have many descendants, including Hoot.
William and Sarah are buried in Fergus, Ontario, which holds a Scottish festival every August because of the large number of Scots who immigrated to that area.
