From the Troy Times, Troy, NY, Thursday, September 27, 1928: The death of Frank O. Barnum occurred yesterday at his residence here after an Illness of over a year and a half. Mr. Barnum was born in Jewett, N. Y., 59 years ago, the son of William Clarence and Polly Jane Barnum. At the age of 14 he came to this place, where he had lived all his life. He was a prominent member of the Methodist Church, having joined December 31, 1883. He had been a Trustee of the church for many years and was its Sunday School Superintendent for seven years. He was also prominent in Interlochen Odd Fellows' Lodge. Mr. Barnum was a genial, lovable man and had many warm friends here. The survivors are his wife, who was Emma Currie; four sons, Clarence of Troy, William, Clayton and Harry, of this place; one grandson, Lawrence; one granddaughter, Ruth; two brothers, Jay of Cohoes and Edward Barnum of Hudson. The funeral will be held Sunday at 1:30 o'clock at the house and at 3 o'clock at the Averill Park Methodist Church. Rev. John A. Lavender will officiate.
He was buried in Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
