A One-Name Study
for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Notes for Lewis Henry BARNUM
Sometime before his marriage to Hester Hand, as a result of having worked awhile for the circus, Lewis changed his surname to Barnum. Their eight children and the descendants of their sons thus received the Barnum surname although not genetically connected to the rest of the Barnum family tree.
