Eliphalet Barnum was a sergeant during the Revolutionary War; serving as a member of Captain Noble Benedict's 6th Company, Colonel Waterbury's 5th Connecticut Regiment. The Barnum Family lists his sons as Charles, Beck and Eli.
The Barnum Family gives his birth year mistakenly as 1762.
