Ref: DAR Lineage Book, Vol. 75, page 81, #74233, JCL 1-10-06, PJB: Miss Julia Culver Barnum born in Minneapolis, MN. Descendant of William Culver, Corp. Giles Sage, and Asa Allcott. Granddaughter of John Thompson Barnum d. 1858 and Julia Culver, 1829-1904, his wife, 1854.
'The Barnum Family, 1517-1904' gives a death year of 1899, while his
gravestone, in the old section of the Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester,
New York, says 8 Aug 1838. Since he had sons born in 1855 and 1857,
the latter appears to be an error.
