Notes for Sarena UNKNOWN

Sarena is shown in several sources as the daughter of Joseph Barnum (abt. 1707-bef. 1739), who appears in this genealogy as her grandfather. Researcher Allen J. Mallory stated in a March 2007 e-mail message that: We know from the Barbour collection the marriage date of "Rane" was Oct 9, 1791 in Danbury to Silas Barnum. It is also noted that Rane's father was Joseph. and that Silas' DOB was March 25, 1768. FOOF confirms the marriage date of Joseph Sr. and Mary Brackenburg as Oct. 20, 1731 and that Joseph (son of Richard) died before 1739. Hence, unless Rane was 29 or more years YOUNGER than her husband Silas, she could not possibly be the daughter of Joseph Sr.

Birth:Danbury Conn. Church.,Seth's pension;Marr:Danbury records; Rana's name is spelled Reina, Rana, Ranah on different records. Her bapt is 27 Nov 1771 with the name spelled Rana, and her mother listed as Keziah. She was 19-1791 at marr. Of Senecca, NY. Listed as youngest in father's probate. gaurdian record vol 6 pg 62, Danbury probates.
