Notes for Laura PIERCE
From The Otsego Farmer, April 21, 1911: The death of Mrs. Laura Pierce Barnum occurred at the home of Mrs. Keziah Mason at Middlefield Centre on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, April 16th where she had resided for the past nine years. Mrs. Barnum was the daughter of Benjamin Pierce and Polly Bowen-Pierce and was born on the Levi Bowen farm in the town of Middlefield March 8, 1829 and was one of a family of thirteen children. Her husband, Abijah Barnum died some years ago. The body was taken to Cooperstown to the home of her brother Horace Pierce. Interment in Lakewood Cemetery. She was survived by two sisters and four brothers; a son Curtis A. Barnum of Clark's Summit, Pennsylvania and two grandchildren, Miss Laura P. Barnum of Cooperstown and Harold Barnum, Utica.
