The Barnum Family, 1350-1907 shows his line of descent from Levi, David, David, Francis, Thomas Barnum. That source also shows him as married to Beersheba Piseley, apparently missing his early death and confusing him with his brother Alanson Levi Barnum.
The Barnum Family, 1517-1904 gives a death date of 1803.
