Notes for David B. ROGERS
David was the son of Colonel Amzi and Betsey (Barnum) Rogers. He was very prominent in the religious and social life of New Fairfield. He was a Sunday School teacher and the musical director of the town. He married Sarah Trowbridge, who apparently was from New York State, as she was received into the Congregational Church by a letter from a church in Carmel.
He was buried in the New Fairfield or Town Center Cemetery, the oldest existing cemetery in the town of New Fairfield. It is located on the east side of Brush Hill Road (Route 39) across from the Town Hall and the former location of the Congregational Church. His gravestone reads: David B. Rogers, went home, March 7, 1901, aged 85 yrs. 7 mos. & 8 dys.
