Americus Barnum of Castleton, Michigan enlisted at Hastings on 22 July 1862, age 17. He served with Company "C", 21st Regiment, Michigan Infantry during the period 1862-1865. On October 17, 1895 he filed in Oregon a Civil War Pension Application (No. 1171173).
