Notes for Rachel BARNUM

Her surname is erroneously shown as Beeman in Kent Vital Records.

There is an entry in Child's Addison Country Directory of the early 1880s that shows Jehiel Barnum as Rachel's father. However, a Dean family tradition passed down through Franklin Dean, son of Ashbel Dean and Rachel Barnum Dean, suggests that Rachel was the daughter of Barnabas Barnum. Although there is no way to be certain, the Directory entry may be in reference to this Rachel, born in 1770.
