Notes for Alice E. BARNUM


From the Times Record, Troy, New York, Friday, November 13, 1936: The death of Mrs. Alice Chard, a lifelong resident of Green Island, occurred yesterday afternoon after a week’s illness. She was born in Green Island, the daughter of the late Sarah Cowan (sic) and Ashbell Barnum. She attended the public schools there, and was a member of the Green Island Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward (sic, s/b Edmund) Lewis and Mrs. Vincent Danks; three sons, Norman, Alfred, and William Chard; and eight grandchildren, Dorothy, Margaret, Shirley, Ruth, William, and Robert Lewis, and Alfred and Kenneth Chard. The funeral service will be from the residence, 168 Paine Street, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. with Rev. M. Harmer Patton, pastor of the Green Island Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
