From the Utica Daily Press, October 16, 1945: Mrs. Laura K. Barnum, 58, wife of Charles O. Barnum died October 10, 1945, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Utica, NY, May 13, 1887, daughter of the late Andrew and Ida Scherer Klumbach. She attended Utica schools and always lived here. Mrs. Barnum was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Besides her husband she leaves four sons,Frederick in Michigan; Roderick, Sauquoit, Robert and Walter, two daughters, Lt. Jean Barnum, army Nurse Corps and Edith, Utica and three grandchildren. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
