From the Sequoyah County Times (Arkansas), Thursday, June 1, 2000: Jimmy Wayne Barnum, 56, of Fort Smith, Ark., died Monday, May 29, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Bakersfield, Calif., to William Carvine Barnum and Mary Leota (Tippin) Barnum. He married Peggy Ruth Cowan Dec. 5, 1962, in Arvin, Calif. Survivors include his wife, Peggy R. Barnum of the home; one daughter, Renee; three grandchildren; and four brothers, James, Donald, Billy and Gaylord. One son, Terry Allen Barnum, preceded Mr. Barnum in death in 1985 in Arvin, Calif. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
