Obituary - Wednesday, 13 Aug. 1924 - The Hastings Banner, p. 8, c. 5.
Death of Rev. Niles Pastor at Woodland. Rev. Fred L. Niles, pastor of the M. E. Church of Woodland, died at the parsonage at four o'clock Saturday morning, August 9. While Mr. Niles had been in poor health for several months from heart trouble, his death came as a great shock to his many friends. Mr. Niles' work in Woodland will always be remembered as it was mainly through his efforts that the new basement was completed. His influence for good was strong, and no work too hard for him. He will greatly be missed. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church.
