Notes for Elijah Clark BEERS


From the Elmira Star-Gazette, Mon, Sep 16, 1912 ·Page 5:
The death of Clark Beers occurred Saturday afternoon. He suffered an apoplectic stroke several weeks ago, and was apparently improving when the second stroke came on Saturday, resulting in death. Mr. Beers had lived in Bath about 20 years and was held in the highest esteem. He was born in Pittsford, Monroe County, 68 years ago.He was a veteran of the war of the rebellion, serving as a member of Company L, 23d New York Cavalry. He was a member of Custer post, G. A. R. of Bath. He leaves his widow, formerly Lydia Kennedy of Bath. The funeral will be held at the family home in Cruger sreet Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. W. S. Davison of the Presbyterian church officiating.
