From the Register-Guard, Eugene, Oregon, July 20, 2000: Springfield - A memorial service will be held July 22 for Elizabeth Lorene Olsen of Springfield, who died July 17 of congestive heart failure. She was 83. She was born March 25, 1917, in Bedford, Iowa, to LeGrande and Elva Biddinger Barnum. She married Richard Olsen in Marshalltown, Iowa., on August 25, 1940. He died in 1981.
Before moving to Springfield 7 years ago, she lived in Salem for 38 years. She worked more than 31 years in secretarial and general finance positions. Her interests included nature, the sea and traveling. She also enjoyed visiting family and friends. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed church activities.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Agan of Springfield; a son, John of Tucson, AZ.; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Saturday's service will be at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 250 N. 51st Street, Springfield, Or. Burial will be at Camp Creek Cemetery. Buell Chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
