From the St. Tammany Farmer, Covington, Louisiana, Thursday, June 19, 1986: Captain Robert Hyde Barnum of Covington died on Sunday June 15 at 4:15 PM at Highland Park Hospital. He was 66 years of age, a native of Bayview, Florida and a resident of Covington for a year and a half. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Rev. Robert M. Barnum officiating. Interment was in the Pine Crest Memorial Gardens. He was the husband of Sylvia Stafford; the father of Leon Robert Barnum of Carriere, Mississippi; the grandfather of Robert M. Barnum, Rhonda L. and Joseph C. Barnum.
