From the Herald & Review, Decatur, Illinois, May 10, 1992: Decatur - Rachel B. Cassity, 82, of Decatur died 8:21 p.m. Thursday (May 7, 1992) in St. Mary's Hospital. Private services will be held.
Mrs. Cassity was born in LeRoy on Sept. 28, 1909, the daughter of Percy D. and Retta C. Croskey Barnum. She was a former music teacher for LeRoy schools and a substitute teacher in Elmhurst. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She married Leon H. Cassity on June 28, 1936. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Rebecca C. Lennahan and her husband Charles of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Claire and Deborah. Her parents and brother, Edwin C. Barnum, preceded her in death.
