From The News-Sentinel (Fort Wayne, Indiana), November 7, 1990: Helen E. Barnum, 82, died yesterday at home. The Defiance, Ohio, native retired in 1983 as a clerk for Howard's Gift and Camera Shop after 20 years. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, ladies society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers and Blackhawk Super Sixties, and widow of Paul J., who died in 1967. Surviving are a stepson, Gene Barnum of Fort Wayne, a niece and three nephews. Services are 9:40 a.m. tomorrow in C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., and at 10 a.m. in the church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling is 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a vigil at 6 p.m. today in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are gifts to the church or Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice Foundation.
