From the Binghamton Press, New York, Friday, September 21, 1923: Mrs. Sarah J. Barnum, widow of Reynolds Barnum and for more than 60 years a resident of Binghamton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Coons in West Colesville Thursday. She was educated in the old academy in this city when that Institution was conducted by Professor Vosbury and in her early days taught in the city schools. The funeral will be private.
